I'm making comparisons to a different story because that's what many of the articles in newspapers in the last few days are doing and I presume - although I cannot be certain - that is why many people have complained to the BBC about their treatment of Carol Thatcher.
It was also the reason why I posted in the Ross thread.
You pompous attitude is also one of the reasons why I don't waste my time in the
online kindergarten that is Metropol.

Metropol? Who said anything about Metropol?

You have an unhealthy obsession, Mr Guru.

Heh,heh, heh - they certainly seem to have about me in there anyway.
But back to the original discussion - 2,245 people complain about the BBC's decision and only 60 email or telephone to support it.
Anyone at the BBC who isn't alarmed at that ratio is a fool.

I presume, of course, we are all going to be calling on the BBC to insist Jeremy Clarkson issues a public apology for being very offensive in describing Gordon Brown as a " one-eyed idiot ? "

For heaven's sake, will you get your head out of the Daily Mail and talk about something important? "One-eyed idiot" is nowhere near racist and fairly descriptive in the current climate.

Of course if you did want to talk about something important I'd recommend Metropol, since you seem to spend a lot of your time snooping around.

Interesting though that the Mail has chosen to hit out at Clarkson rather than agreeing with his sentiments - what a case of split loyalty!

I also note they've added their all-purpose BBC sentence to the end of their ridiculous "outrage" articles:

Quote:
Only last month, Jonathan Ross returned to his TV show after a three-month suspension after he and comedian Russell Brand made obscene phone calls to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs live on air.

I think you've answered my point about the kindergarten very well.
And if you're Admin I worry about the sanity of some of the other knuckle-draggers.
Perhaps you might care to answer my point about Clarkson .

Besides - why the hell would you call the BBC to say that you supported their decision? Do you ring the complaints department of a shop to say you enjoy your washing machine? Mental.

Why, Showbizguru would it "worry" you one bit? Really, for a site you claim to be too grown up for, I find you referring to it with every post here.

For Heaven's sake, just join up if you want to, and if you don't then let it be. I wouldn't mind at all either way.

I like Clarkson. Brown does have one eye.

What do you want me to say?

Well you could say Clarkson should apologise for being offensive to people with disabilities by making a cheap joke whilst working for the BBC.

He's not disabled. He's got one real eye and one glass one.

That is, however, part of Clarkson's "act" - his stage/screen persona, just as any comedian or presenter is while they're on screen working. Carol Thatcher was presumably being herself in the green room, and used language which is unacceptable.

Can we drop this now? There are far more important things going on in the world yet this seems to have made front page news in the gutter press.
