Has the sound production improved? Maybe it's just me but whenever I do watch, Ross mumbles (usually when he's trying to hit on his guests) I have to keep farting about with the volume on my TV.

I noticed the set had been changed, but the normal viewer wouldn't notice, for example the patten on the door is no longer 3d, and just a printed panel, also the bottom skirting board that runs around the set has been replaced to a red version, and all the walls replaced, lit with a hint of blue too.
Set looked a lot better, but cant say much about the show its self.

Jonathan Ross is in TC8 this week.
It seems like the summer holidays are definitely over - the following shows are also being recorded (or live) in TV Centre next week:
Maestro, Charlotte Church's Christmas special, Crimewatch, Goldenballs, Alan Titchmarsh, 8 out of 10 Cats, Mock the Week, Take Me Out, Strictly Come Dancing, and Noel's HQ.
Blimey.

I end up doing the same thing with the volume. And the audience levels are constantly far too loud so when you turn up the volume to actually hear what Jonathan and his guest are saying then you are overwhelmed by the audience's laughter and applause.
To say it's been through the edit suite I wish the audio levels were sorted out and became more equally matched.

Yep, as mentioned in a previous post it's the first show to come from TC4 after the upgrade to HD. And I have to say, compared to other studio-based shows I've seen in HD, it didn't look great. Very grainy.

Though I've just realised I can look at previous weeks in the diary, and JR was indeed in TC4 last week.

Yep - just to add TC1, 4 and 8 are all HD capable now AIUI. All have the same Sony HDC-1500 series cameras and the same type of MVS 8000 Sony Vision mixers. Any picture quality differences between studios are likely to be decisions and operational issues - not kit quality ones. (AIUI it isn't unusual for cameras to move between studios on a show-by-show basis - depending on the numbers required in each studio on any given day, minimising the need to hire in extra kit)

I saw the repeat earlier and have to agree - I had to check my screen had not reverted to 'dynamic' mode. The picture looked 'sat up' and noisier than I've seen from previous HD programmes shot at TVC.
