Did any other regions do Jobfinder apart from YTV, HTV and Central?

I'm just surprised how Yorkshire are still committed to producing the programme, as they don't have to produce it and it's also shown at 5.00am...

There's more jobless here, that's why

errr, a quick trip to google and a look at http://www.statistics.gov.uk/STATBASE/Expodata/Spreadsheets/D7699.xls suggests otherwise.

I remember when Jobfinder was on all night and was run as teletext pages! On a related note, it is a shame that ITV n longer run any proper nightime shows, and have resorted to a money grabbing quiz show instead- though I gues the mugs who are stupid enough to ring up are raising far more money than the avertising at that time of night would ever bring in.

they're rather crude in design aren't they. compare and contrast to central's final set of graphics ...

They are very crude, also don't ask why the opening slide is postage stamped but the others are full screen. It's been broadcast like that for years

The local Jobfinder was dropped in 1992 after TSW failed in its appeal against the award of the franchise to Westcountry. From then on, TSW took Granada Jobfinder and Westcountry continued to do so until 1996. An odd decision from a local point of view - plus Granada removed the Oracle/Teletext headers!

Tyne Tees did a similar thing just prior to being bought up by YTV -- they'd put their own Jobfinder pages on prior to that but then just seemed to give up and not bother after 2am -- no ads, just a "Back Shortly" sign, and the Granada Jobfinder service. Then later in the year we started to receive YTV's Jobfinder, a practice which continued up until around 2000 rather bizarrely, given that the jobs were all in the YTV region and by then YTV didn't even have their own overnight service and were broadcasting Nightscreen to Border and Granada. Always found that strange, and irritating.

ISTR that the YTV graphics have been like that for a very long time, I think they were updated from a recoloured (beige background) Teletext display in around 1994.
