Yes you have a very bad case of BBC snobbery. I will not slate the whole output of a single channel by saying something like BBC = good ITV = bad. There are things that both channels do well, but it annoys me that people say something is bad just because it is on ITV.
The BBC are very good for news and documentaries and Look North is first rate. But, they don't do entertainment or dramas very well, and their output is littered with too many house makeover, DIY, gardening clones.

Oh yeah - there's plenty of 5h1t littering the BBC schedules. but they do space it out with a few little gems - eg - abfab, Life as we Know it, Blue Planet, Liquid News, That Gay Show, lots of their history stuff (not as good as C4's stuff but still v good)
Their saturday night primetime is JUST as bad as ITV1's, but in general I do find that ITV's programmes ARE terrible and deeply unoriginal - it always seems to be BBC/C4 shows that I see in the listings and think 'ooh, that sounds good'

I've been a bit of an 'Auntie's boy' for quite a while now, but have been slowly becoming converted in recent weeks. Carlton's forthcoming revamp of CNWest (which is my region) may be what tips the scales fully.
This evening I even gave Cilla's Moment of Truth a go, instead of sticking with Jim Davidson's Generation Game (as I usually do) - and I must confess I felt vastly more entertained.
At this point I'm sure all the pro-ITV1 people will be cheering at the prospect of inducting a new convert, while the pro-BBC people will be calling me a traitor! Sorry, Auntie!
