This is sad. He was truly a great football, and a great presenter, without whom MOTD would have struggled in the 70's.

Well I think the football might have helped.

Sad loss, only lasting memory of his appearances at World Cup 1998 and Jimmy Hill's Sunday Supplement.

The surprising thing considering it's a Saturday is that both ITV London and network had different VTs, different archive footage and voxes.

And the London report looked self shot thanks to the poor framing of Chloe Culpan's PTC, while Richard Pallot on ITV News looked fine.

They'd be fully aware though London viewers would see both and they had a few hours to ensure different edits. Not sure if Jimmy Hill would have been considered important enough to have an obit in the can already.
