Broadcaster and comedian Jim Bowen, best known for hosting darts-based game show Bullseye in the 1980s and '90s, has died at the age of 80.
His wife confirmed the news to BBC Radio Lancashire.
The former deputy headmaster, who was born in Lancashire, began his career as a stand-up comedian on the club circuit in the 1960s.
He became a household name when he began presenting Bullseye in 1981. The show ran for 14 years until 1995.

Just when you thought we'd had enough significant deaths this week.

Very sad news. Bullseye was compulsory Sunday night viewing when I was young. It inspired me to take up darts. He'll be missed.

No doubt he collected the last bus fair on the way up. RIP.
I'm sure Challenge will have a change of schedule, in respect.

It was cult viewing for me and my flatmates as students. That and The Young Ones.

My parents sat and had a drink with Jim one afternoon during a cruise some years ago (he was the nightly entertainment on board) Genuinely nice guy they said.

RIP Jim.

I always remember watching Bullseye as a kid in front of the telly.

Here's Jim talking about an unaired episode of Bullseye as part of his stand-up.

Don’t like the dodgy green screen going on in the background there.

Will anyone notice as its on that often?

My favorite line he said about Bullseye was "it was crap when it started, and it was crap when it ended. But when I started on the show I was driving a mini, and was driving a Rolls Royce and the end"

Bye Jim. Rest In Peace.
