Do you think if the BBC will carry a newsflash if the Dando verdict comes through outside normal news broadcasting times. I can't see them doing a extensive programme (simulcasting News 24), especially if it's @ 4pm when CBBC & Wimbledon is on. Which will go?

NO continuous BBC News flash
ITN aren't even showing it
As I started the thread I didn't have a TV on, but as I was typing the guilty verdict same through, yet I didn't know
There's now a Diana connection with the verdict - that will interest the papers.

As you say, the verdict is in and it's guilty with life inprisonment. There was a BBC News Report on BBC One at 4.10pm with Huw Edwards going live to the Old Bailey. Sky News currently giving continuous coverage.

Just to clarify:
The verdict came in about 4.07pm and there was a newsflash on BBC One presented by Huw Edwards at 4.10pm when Wimbledon was interrupted. This lasted for about three minutes... Sky News was covering this live as you might expect as were BBC News 24.

Sub Zero
5NEWS was one of the fastest for BREAKING NEWS. It specifically cut the film, and went into a report.
This was very good, a real credit to 5 NEWS team.
It was even faster than ITV ITN. ITV ITN's broadcast was after CITV. Not good enough really.

SkyNews
ITN are giving it minimal coverage.
Sky appear to have more background reporting - from what I've seen
Sky's website was ill-prepared. The Beeb had the background ready to upload obviously. Their coverage their is extensive.
The appeal could be interesting.
Sky accidentally showed the picture of what George looks like now within seconds of the jury was sent out (last week). They are all showing that picture of him now. Previously only a picture not showing is distinctive features was shown.

Sky are using a special blue 'DANDO VERDICT' graphic on screen.
I wonder if Nick Whittchel will anchor the 6 from the Old Bailey.
Yeah, how did they do it? Was it actually referred to as a 'News Report'?

SkyNews
BBC using a
pointless
high shot above the Old Bailey. 2 cameras are all that's needed to cover it. 1 for reporter & 1 to cover those offering comments leaving the Court.
