Jeunes Francophones on Learning Zone

If you're up, have a look at BBC2. They are showing a French programme, which is obviously 4:3 in it's original form, but it's been zoomed in on and is still being broadcast in 4:3. It's as if the safe area has been cropped off, and the picture stretched to fill the screen. What 's happened here?

Not sure, but something definitely is up with it, as I'm not seeing a DOG; there's usually one present.

in december 2005 bbc learning zone were showing the schools programme science zone and there was weird cropping in 2 programmes!
i actully saved on dvd where the weird cropping went back to normal!
the weird cropping was funny to laugh at!

Hmm, well the DOG was there when I was watching (on Freeview btw), so it must've been removed later for some reason.
