Well frankly if mediawatch think "Go f**k yourself" sung by 34 people is 34 occurrances of the f-word, then I think its fair that the BBC are equally creative in how they add their sums up.

Yeah their defiantly quite rare things to spot. I've only seen 1 around my local area, and that was only recently. It was a dark blue new-style Ford Transit with smoked windows on one side of the body and it had some kind of pod on the top - presumably a detector of some sort. It was labelled TV Licensing Detector Van or similar with the logo, so their very visible when you do see one! I guess they only go to areas with a high count of non-licensed houses though. After all, they know exactly who hasn’t got a licence, it’s just a measure to prove that they haven’t.

I think I shall call them actually and tell them how fab they are.

I was watching Sky News this morning and they were reading out text messages, all of which were supporting the BBC.

Is it not ironic that the people who dislike the swearing were making *abusive* phone calls?

Not quite, they know who hasn't got a license, the detector is there to find out if they're watching telly

1.7 million viewers watched this (I expected more, but most "operas" get around 1m according to the BBC). The total complaints stand at 45,000 - 40,000 of which were received before broadcast. This represents less than 2.7% of the audience.

My view on the complaints:
Arrow If you complained and didn't watch it - what gives you the right to complain about something you didn't watch?
Arrow If you compained and did watch it - how hypercritical!

Personal I consider myself an atheist and consider views such as "It's God's way" or "It's not God's fault" to be extremly wrong. I also find the hold the church has over many people very disturbing. However, I understand others don't so won't be outside TV centre protesting against the broadcast of Songs of Praise.

Finally, a Christian group is now looking to seek a private prosecution of the BBC for blasphemy. I hope they try, fail and go bankrupt!
