And indeed this comment represents none of the clergy that I know.

the clergy in my village, cardinal igor buttwink is a known paedophile and local celebrity. he said of his sexual tendancies in a recent radio interview: 'i can tell the men from the boys'. dr rowan williams has also said that paedophilia is condoned in the bible 'somewhere near the back'. desmond tutu, however, was not available for comment, although his standin, trevor mcdonald said des would be holding a press conference at the michael barrymore school for boys sometime in the next week.

Glad I don't live in your village, although it must be a very important one to have a Cardinal as the parish priest!

Might be an idea to avoid libeling Dr. Williams on this forum though...

Luckily for both of us - and indeed most of the other miserable sinners that go to church with me - I don't think even he has that power..... Laughing

ITN have parked a satellite truck outside TVC this morning. Presumably they're expecting some protestors.

Only about three protestors. Just about equals the number of reporters.

Channel 4 News spoke to a bishop outside TVC, who was moaning on about it..

"Have you seen the programme?"
"Er.. no. But even the Evening Standard are calling it the most blasphemous program ever!"

this is funny on so many levels. the evening standard says it, so it's *got* to be true. the bible says it, it's *got* to be true. the parallel is uncanny. i think these people have a genetic propensity to believe anything that's put to them, as long as it's written down.

in many ways though, mark thompson should think himself lucky that the muslims are much more tolerant with these things, otherwise, the next time he gets into his car, he'd find a pregnant 17 year old dressed in black wearing a synthetic leather belt which ticks in a curious way.

That'll be why the Evening Standard gave the stage version an Evening Standard Theatre Award.

All that the church, and its 'political' group Mediawatch have achieved is to increase the audience of this alleged blasphemy.

I think that in itself is hilarious.

True - look at Monty Python's Life of Brian as another example...

Surely one of the funiest films of all time - and the favourite film of at least two church ministers I can think of!

They're not church ministers, they're very naughty boys!
