It's the same old righteous indignation - possibly you were distracted by slack-jawed American yokels, rather than toothless Brits in shellsuits.

It does look like he has had his hair done for America. He is living out in NY at the moment for six months (he said this on Wendy Williams show back in June or July) to try and make the show work.
