Am I imagining that I recall an interview or similar around 5 years or so ago in which an ex-broadcasting boss indicated that ITV wanted to remove JK from the schedules. Allegedly saying that it didn't fit with the network's attempts to 'modernise' and present a more 'wholesome' service offering, but daren't due to it's perceived value to certain advertisers and popularity with certain spectra of society. If this is indeed true, any incident surrounding the production will surely be grasped to facilitate the removal from the channel.

I'm curious to know why you think Ben Frow would touch The Jeremy Kyle Show with a barge pole? Seems a rather dated view of Channel 5.
How about Channel 4 then? Or probably Sky One or some sort of digital channel?
Why? I think you're forgetting the circumstances in which you assume it has been axed.
If they knew it wasn’t going to move to Channel 5 and be immediately up against whatever ITV replaced it with, then I think they’d get rid of it in a heartbeat.

Though it's unlikely it would get the same slot on Channel 5, not with The Vine Stuff sitting there already. They can't move that later or earlier
I think Trisha was moved to an 11am slot on C5, so it didn't clash with Vile.
Vanessa (The Vanessa Show) returned in 2011 and switched from late morning to 2.15pm slot.

They seemed to get a lot out of it. Three hours a day on ITV2.

This is where the tabloids go from publishing daily click bait stories about that day’s episode, joining in on the format, to suddenly being all outraged about such a programme and that they would never do the same.

TBH I think whatever replaced Kyle would have an uphill struggle and I think there would be a worry that it could have a knock on effect on the rest of the daytime lineup. I'd like to see a medical series in the vein of Dr Phil or Dr Oz in that slot, it's the only American style show that ITV hasn't ever tried for daytime.
It's interesting that Judge Rinder doesn't face the same sort of scrutiny but I guess that's more toned down compared to Kyle.

Jennifer Saunders dramatised a fictional version of the show titled 'The Vivienne Vyle Show' over 10 years ago on BBC Two.
This clip in retrospect now seems a bit jarring considering the current circumstances, and is only really supposed to be seen within a comedic light, but portrays how far someone can be pushed before they can blow. Mental health can affect people in different ways and people can react in very different ways.
What we see here are probably not too dissimilar tactics to what the show still used up to now in terms of the main host. But hyping up real life people and situations to make good telly and publicly humiliate them is something that does not belong to television in this day and age no matter how well the ratings do.
