If they knew it wasn’t going to move to Channel 5 and be immediately up against whatever ITV replaced it with, then I think they’d get rid of it in a heartbeat.

I don't think it would. They've got Vine in the morning, the Aussie soaps and US telemovies in the afternoon and no sign of the willingness or budget to put anything else into daytime.

I'm curious to know why you think Ben Frow would touch The Jeremy Kyle Show with a barge pole? Seems a rather dated view of Channel 5.

Haven't we been here before when Trisha moved to C5? Can't see it moving there personally as they have ready made daytime filler in Jeremy Vine which is very cheap to produce. JK with his support team and contracts with drug rehab centres and other organisations is going to be more costly.

Though it's unlikely it would get the same slot on Channel 5, not with The Vine Stuff sitting there already. They can't move that later or earlier

I think Trisha was moved to an 11am slot on C5, so it didn't clash with Vile.

I'm in absolute disbelief that everyone's discounting JK on C5 due to scheduling or budgetary reasons.

We're talking about the same Channel 5 that recently cancelled a profitable and established reality show in order to focus on more "life-affirming" programming, and has not long ago poached Jeremy Vine for its morning current affairs show.

There is no way on this earth that Ben Frow has ANY interest in The Jeremy Kyle Show (and that's before today's news made it a toxic brand).

Of course those who never watch it, have always wanted it to be axed, but don’t watch ITV on a morning neither now ans probably wouldn’t in any circumstances but remember when Trisha left and how well the replacements did? The less downmarket ones flopped, everyone watched Trisha on Five, and then along came Jeremy Kyle.

I remember Jerry Springer in both US and a UK version from Granada were fillers post Trisha. If I recall, Springer used the Kyle set before he did!

Bring back Trisha

Incidentally lie detectors aren’t even real. It saddens me how irrational we are that certain countries use it in court. It’s efficacy isn’t anywhere close to good.

How about Channel 4 then? Or probably Sky One or some sort of digital channel?

If Kyle's show is axed permanently, it should be Judge Rinder who moves up into the 9.25 slot. In the meantime, I'd schedule repeats of Rinder for now to forward promote the 2pm new shows. It's more akin to what JK does, but less patronising to the guests who participate.

Also deals with less personal issues - disputes over property compared to addictions/sexual activities/domestic abuse etc.
I actually knew someone whose mum went on the show years ago - a family reunion case. By chance I saw what I think(Having never met the Mum I couldn't be 100% sure) was the episode once (I haven't seen the show in years through. )

Sounds like it not the situation in Gloucester but i thought it was standard practice that an suicide would be investigated by the police (Considering the 5am showing was axed ITV would have been informed in the middle of the night if they did find out today.)
