As mentioned, it is sitting idle at the times they would have otherwise filmed The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Is it sitting Idle because ITV are still paying for the Dock 10 studio space as part of a deal, or because Dock10 haven't found other shows to go into it? Or are people just assuming that it's sitting idle on days it would have expected to do Kyle?

The studio can be used by other productions, now the Kyle show is not using it. It means Dock10 can rent it out to other productions. Judge Rinder and Countdown will still use it too. The Kyle set is the only thing which will be left, no doubt shoved into storage and reused somewhere else in the future.

During Countdown recordings, the aftercare section of the Kyle set is/was often used by Rachel, Nick and Susie for coffee breaks etc. Wouldn't surprise me if they keep it for that service.

I wouldn't worry about Dock10 lying idle. The studio they use (HQ4) is used for numerous shows other than Kyle, Countdown and Rinder.

I just had an amazing idea for how ITV can use the Dock10 studio. It could be the perfect studio for Lorraine. It reduces pressure on her, she can spend less time commuting and more with her family, and it would make it easier for her to be live all week. Plus it allows for an audience, which given the reaction to previous episodes with audiences, can only be a good thing. It’ll increase availability of the TC studios too.

I don’t think Lorraine Kelly lives in Scotland.

You’re right. Teach me to post without doing my research. 🙄

That would have been quite the commute everyday. I don’t think even she could act so cheery everyday after that.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure she did live in Scotland until quite recently.

I'm sure I read that she would fly down on Sunday and head home Thursday.

I think she's since moved permanently down south.

ITV Daytime have sublet the two studios at Television Centre and will want to make sure they are getting their money's worth, so no, Lorraine will not be moving anywhere. Dock10 is an independent studio centre, so they will no doubt have plenty of other productions from other channels which can use HQ4.

Ooh indeed she did. I just did a quick search...

There’s two different things here, one that ITV have probably paid for a studio they are not using due to the short notice of the cancellation.

But once that contract runs out, if Dock10 is under used it’s not their problem

We were talking about trying to find a British Wendy Williams for the slot, and it's just dawned on me who would be perfect. Someone with flaws, someone funny, someone great with pop culture and celebrity interviews...
