I can't envisage the 8:30am-9:25am slot ever being occupied by anything vastly different from Lorraine's long-standing show (I use the singular, because it's essentially always been the same show, despite various name changes).

Even when such a time comes that Ms Kelly steps down, It'd probably just become e.g. "The Christine Lampard Show" (or whatever) with the same general format.

Occasionally extending GMB on an ad-hoc basis when there's a major breaking/developing story is fair enough, but making it permanently 55 minutes longer is surely about as likely as Julian Clary getting a girlfriend?

Why not try something like this :

6.00-9.00 : GMB (6/7 with Charlotte and ?, 7/9 with Piers and Susanna - Ben and Kate)
9.00-10.00 : Lorraine
10.00-12.00 : This Morning
12.00-13.00 - Loose Women
and then
13.00 -13.30 : Lunchtime news and regional news
13.30 - 14.00 : IDK

I've always thought they should bring back Lets Do Lunch, which was fronted by Gino & Mel Sykes in 2011/12.
I'd have...

6am GMB
9:15am Judge Rinder
10:15am This Morning
12:15pm Let's Do Lunch
1:00pm News
1:30pm Loose Women
2:30pm Real Deal
-
Followed by Tenable, Tipping Point and The Chase in the usual slots. Lorraine moving to weekends in an extended 8:30-10am programme, and an occasional stand-in on This Morning.

It's very unlikely Lorraine would be moved to the weekend as she'd end up leaving ITV. Lorraine does very well in that slot so there's no reason to move it.
Also, there HAS to be a programme starting at 9.25am. Breakfast is a separate franchise, remember.

Not necessarily. As discussed here previously, if ITV came to an agreement with STV, they could have programmes starting before or after 9:25am, but there would need to be an advert break at 9:25am for the "handover".

It gets complicated though with advertising time and who funds what. It's one thing coming to an agreement for one offs, but quite another for it to be a regular thing. I suspect though they'll be plenty of the Rugby World Cup straddling the slot in the autumn that technically speaking hours will be realigned to allow STV to take the advertising revenue.

Must say though long term if Lorraine ever did wish to scale back the weekday commitment a weekend slot for essentially the same show would make a lot of sense - keeps her on air but with filming back to back once a week. Indeed where is The Sara Cox Show and it's predecessors filmed?

ITV ideally should be commissioning shows for that slot now so they can be ready for the Autumn.

That's almost certainly what they are doing. Of course there's an obvious place to film any replacement - the old Jeremy Kyle studio, which is now sitting idle when Kyle would have been recorded. That's why it's almost certain that at least something in that slot will be using the same facilities and budget as Kyle, and presumably with much of the production team involved.

It's a Cactus production, so presumably at their own studio in Clapham.

They use Prolink Television, as do the BBC.

I think Judge Rinder uses the same studio, but not sure what the setup is etc with who films when.

Jeremy Kyle Show was filmed in Studio HQ4 at Dock10 Studios in Salford. It is not sitting by idle, as Countdown and Judge Rinder use the studio too.

As mentioned, it is sitting idle at the times they would have otherwise filmed The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Is it sitting Idle because ITV are still paying for the Dock 10 studio space as part of a deal, or because Dock10 haven't found other shows to go into it? Or are people just assuming that it's sitting idle on days it would have expected to do Kyle?

The studio can be used by other productions, now the Kyle show is not using it. It means Dock10 can rent it out to other productions. Judge Rinder and Countdown will still use it too. The Kyle set is the only thing which will be left, no doubt shoved into storage and reused somewhere else in the future.
