I do feel since Richard Madeley has made an "impression" with his hosting duties on GMB, ITV might develop a show for him. Put him up against Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 show, it could be a nice competitor. Also it could be a total disaster, but now they have the opportunity, ITV should try some new formats first.

Madeley has however said he won’t work full time anymore and is happy to just fill in for people in various places when required

The Chase repeats is surely the best way to guarantee a healthy audience, and I think there is enough of a gap between the 5pm airing and 9.25am slot to get away with it (indeed probably any afternoon show). If they moved an afternoon show I think Tenable would actually have a decent chance in the morning slot. Actually how does Tenables ratings compare to Real Deal in it's usual 3pm slot?

I think showing The Chase twice every day would start to damage it eventually. With the daytime repeats at the weekends, the Celebrity version and the Family version I think The Chase is probably on enough already. If they added a morning repeat the show and it’s spin offs would be airing 12 - 14 times a week.

Long term definately (and I think airing it 7 days a week does it no favours either), but short term it is now more about protecting This Morning than replacing Jeremy Kyle and they need something in that slot which will guarantee an audience until something else comes along.

Perhaps if studio arrangements and scheduling allowed it they would simply extend the live shows by 15 minutes each to plug the gap in the short term at least.

I see Virgin Media Ireland has taken The Jeremy Kyle Show off its platform too. The show used to air on their three main channels in Ireland as part of their content deal with ITV. So, Virgin Media Ireland have decided no more Jeremy Kyle on Virgin Media One, Two or Three.

Also when you go to their TV Shows section on their website, the show had been deleted from the line up.

Putting The Chase on twice a day might be seen as overkill and hurt it in the long term.

I imagine ITV are already asking for pitches for replacements. I’m not sure how long turnaround could be to launch a 10-20 part studio show but could they feasibly get a show for the Autumn

I think they already have overkill with the chase. I used to watch it every weeknight but its just on too much taking over the 5pm slot for something like 48 weeks a year where as before we used to get some variety whether it be Paul O Grady show, Golden balls, Divided, other quiz and game shows. Now they keep putting on repeats of the chase on Saturday and Sunday too. They need to start giving the slot to something else for a few months a year before viewers become tired of seeing the same thing day in day out. like with anything successful in TV land its been milked to death. Channel 4 in contrast now they have stopped their obsession with come dine with me every week of the year have a nice variety of shows at 5-6pm including four in a bed, extreme Cake makers, Kirstie's handmade Christmas, buy it now and others + normal come dine, & couples come dine. I used to really like come dine with me but as the years went on it became more about conflict and unlikable people and after seeing the Come dine with me champion of champions I've not watched the standard one since. Channel 4 is now my choice for the 5-6pm slot

If Judge Rinder was to take the 9:25am slot I hope they won't show it all year round like they did with Jeremy Kyle. Right at the start I used to watch all Jeremy Kyle shows but quickly lost interest when it became a year round programme. I've watched every episode of Judge Rinder but its nice when it takes a break for a few weeks or months. If it becomes a 52 week show a year I will stop watching it completely as its too much of a commitment week in week out with no end. Same thing happened with Tipping point I enjoyed that but yet again its now on almost every week of the year so I stopped watching that too.

If you look at the BBC One morning schedule it is always changing every 2-4 weeks they show something different where as itv is just the same thing all year round, we used to get breaks over the summer at least but even that has now ended. itv need to stop relying on the same thing all the time. I used to watch quite a lot of itv but have become increasingly bored of what they put out. The over reliance on Emmerdale and Coronation Street for example has ruined the quality of both shows and I much prefer the variety shown on BBC One for catching up on morning tv on an evening

Seems an extended Lorraine and This Morning is ‘potentially’ what they’re going for.

How would the advertising work on an extended Lorraine if it crossed the 9.25 barrier.

Don't ITN provide the news now for GMB, or is it still independently produced but under the ITV News branding?

As far as I'm aware the only involvement ITN have with GMB is the production of the London opts. There may be some kind of arrangement with MCR support as well, but I'm not 100% certain on that.

In any case, ITN's remit for provision of national ITV news coverage starts at 0925. I do recall that ITN staff weren't particularly happy on the occasions when GMB continued past that time to provide rolling coverage of breaking news. It's very much straying into their patch.

Yesterday's Judge Rinder wasn't the advertised episode. It was supposed to feature former X Factor contestant Samantha Atkinson.

On Wednesday, Samantha took to social media to air her concerns ITV would still be showing the programme, despite claims she asked them not to.

On her Facebook, the singer wrote: “ITV should be ashamed of themselves. I asked them not to show my episode on Judge Rinder due to a relationship breakdown and they totally ignored it.

“This was filmed a year ago and may I add they never paid me for the loss of earnings and stalked me to go on.

"I said ‘no’ loads but they stalked and stalked until I said yes.”

Sounds like they feared another backlash after all the Kyle furore.

Makes me wonder if they will pull production of Judge Rinder at some point as well

I am not sure that ITV will ever find a show for this slot that would get the kind of viewing figures that the JK show got, On the cancelation having had a few days to think about this, I think that ITV have wanted to get rid of the JK show for a while and this incident tragic though it is and the back lash from it gave them the excuse that was needed to drop the axe.
Why do I think this well the JK show had been on the air for 14 years and although it got lots of criticism in that time no one until this time had died as a result of being on the show, however may people have been helped to get there lives back on track with intense rehabs or find long lost family members but after this one incident the show gets axed. However Love Island that has had 2 tragic incidents in a much shorter time is still on air, now why is this the case, I would suggest as with most things its related to money surely if your going to axe JK because of a tragic incident, then with the same reasoning with 2 tragic incidents Love Island should also be axed.

The Love Island ones happened two years after the show, not one week after the show like in this case. So can they be sure that Love Island is at fault? Something else could've happened afterwards. It's nowhere near as clear cut as this incident.
