Here's a possible suggestion for a rejig of the schedules. Quiz show from 09:25-10:25, then a regional news bulletin before this morning. It would offer a mid morning regional bulletin that the BBC no longer offers, thus something different.
Producers and researchers would be talking to guests for hours before the show began, passing information across. I heard them saying things like, "You won't believe what I just heard your fella say to me just now".
On one occasion I was in the dressing room and overheard a producer tell a guest that their girlfriend had called them a "slag". This was normal - you didn't even question it.
Quote:
Jeremy once called a guest I was looking after a liar because he failed a lie-detector test.
The guest stormed off stage, pushed me over and the producer ran after them, screaming at them to come back.
I remember them saying something along the lines of… "You can't go. Have you forgotten what she said about you? Get back in there and tell her what you think!"
... repeats of Airline. All the drama and tantrums you'd expect from Jeremy Kyle but safely tucked away in 2001.

Heavily Sensored for daytime.
Repeats have aired during the daytime on various digital channels and I don't think it was post watershed anyway?
Much as we all like to tempt it and say “how about a alternating set of 30min cheap game shows (maybe one set in a supermarket, another one based on changing a set of letters to make new words) followed by a discussion show hosted by someone who visits different parts of the UK with a studio audience asking their different views on things. 🤔
In reality It wouldn’t surprise me if Judge Rinder/Real Deal gets put into the 9:25 slot and they fill afternoons with something else like repeats of detective shows

ITV don't seem to like drama repeats in day time anymore so that would be a temporary situation only.
Considering how Real Deal rated yesterday that (or other antique or property shows) don't seem like a viable option for ITV.
If true, it’s a total disgrace to the UK TV industry ( which according to all the gushing speeches at the BAFTA do on Sunday) is the envy of the world.
From BBC News: ITV's former executive chairman Michael Grade told the BBC: "They're going to lose a very popular show, probably, it would be very difficult to bring it back now, unless there were some reasons we don't know that means they're completely exonerated.”
Given the growing pressure on ITV (including from some MPs), I don’t see how the show can really return. It would be terrible for ITV’s image, and advertisers might not even want to be associated with the show should it return. If the show is axed, I can’t see Kyle’s documentary strand returning or him presenting on GMB in the near future.
Dickinson’s Real Deal is a strange program to use as a replacement, so I’m not surprised it rated poorly. The target audiences are totally different, and it’s already on at 3pm. You’d have thought they’d have a better solution in place by next week.
What about Tenable? Between 9:25-10:30?
How about extending Lorraine?
I don’t think that would work. What more content could be added to the show, I think they already exhaust it, although I reckon ITV could extend GMB to around the same time as BBC breakfast give a few changes and then if they wanted to slot it to 9:15.
Lorraine 9:15 - 10am
This Morning 10am - 12:30pm
Loose Women 12:30 - 1:30pm
Real Deal seems an odd replacement for Jeremy Kyle, but I understand why they didn't go for the obvious Judge Rinder.
They had to make a decision at short notice, and I expect that Real Deal is a relatively cheap alternative which they thought would perform reasonably ok in that slot.
Repeats cost money, and they have to balance repeat fees with potential viewing figures, advertising revenue etc.
If Real Deal doesn't perform well, they may end up replacing it with something else, but I expect that nothing will perform as well as Jeremy Kyle.
Personally I think the show had run its course to be honest. It became a copy of the Jerry Springer show.
It always has been! Remember a few pages ago when we were talking about the fact Jerry's UK show was followed by Jeremy's first series with the same set?
Or - and hear me out because this is currently enjoying a resurgence on social media - repeats of Airline. All the drama and tantrums you'd expect from Jeremy Kyle but safely tucked away in 2001.
Or even a remake - ITV have already been filming at Easyjet for a show about the pilots that's currently airing.
