Wasn't Jonathan Ross fired from Radio 2 over the Andrew Sachs thing?
Wasn't Jonathan Ross on Radio 2 a few weeks ago covering for Steve Wright?

Funny that

It's been like 6 years since it happened.

No he wasn't fired, he was suspended for 3 months during the Andrew Sachs saga. Ross then left Radio 2 when his contract expired 18 months later. Similarly Clarkson technically wasn't fired, instead the BBC opted not to renew his contract, meaning he could return sometime in the future to present (or just appear) on a show.

He will be appearing in at least one episode of the upcoming QI Series M - "Military" - it was recorded on 2 June.

There is still his Have I got news for your roles which I believe has been held over to the next series.

I am nowhere near Clarkson's league. I'm not saying he's allowed to do it because he's talented, but talented people are generally a bit off-the wall and need managing in a certain way. That hasn't happened here.

If you believe it's acceptable for anybody - famous, talented or otherwise - to get away with assault in the workplace, then you're deluded.

Maybe if people stopped treating talent like they are delicate snowflakes, they'd stop being divas.

Edit: and if you are a diva, that's the quickest way to get a crew to hate your guts as well. They won't be willing to help you if you need it.

Perhaps worth a mention that Mock the Week did their own 'tribute' to the Top Gear credits. They opted to have their credits mostly on a plain black background without music.

At the end of the repeat showing tonight, nothing was added over the credits. Nowhere near as jarring as having the announcer over the silent credis.

Claims that a clause in Clarkson's Top Gear contract means he can't present a motoring show for another linear broadcaster for two years.

Another reason to go to Netflix then. I really think Netflix is the best fit for them anyway considering their audience.

Or they could present a travel show instead. A travel show that mostly revolves around them mucking about in cars in weird and wonderful places.
