Although Top Gear's studio isn't a conventional studio in that it's dedicated to that one programme.

It's not a really a studio at all, I'd have thought they only hire it for filming periods and then Dunsfold use it for other things.

Didn't they jokingly claim it was Fifth Gear's doing?

Yes. They replaced the old seating set with old style chairs, sofa and an old school square tv set, which the claimed was last used on a sit-com, as that's they could afford.

The hangar/studio is used by Top Gear out of series use when they film the high performance cars and need a black/dark background. They've also used it as a demo space in the Midldlesbrough art gallery piece, wayyy back few years ago.

Also a pilot for Channel 4 quiz/game show was filmed in that space last year, where the winners flew out on holiday as the prize there and then. Hosted by Paddy McGuiness iirc.

I don't know how true this is, but this is all over Facebook...

That's a pretty shoddy fake image. The number on the speedometer goes over Clarkson but behind May, for one thing.

Agreed, it looks like a fake. Considering the BBC own the rights to Top Gear a new programme with a very similar name, and almost identical format would likely run into legal problems.

Thanks for the clarification. I was looking at it on my iPhone.

Anything that starts with the phrase "it's all over Facebook" is generally enough to say its false.

When it comes to news sources, Facebook walls and Reuters, they're the main two.

I'm offended by that person's attempt at trying to appear genuine,
BBCWalesToday and TG gave kudos

That, and the pictures of the three guys are at the very least a couple of years old. Hammond and May have shortened their hairstyles since. If they were announcing a new show, they'd at least get some non-BBC owned photos!

The Director-General of the BBC is being protected by an elite squad of bodyguards after receiving a chilling death threat over the sacking of Jeremy Clarkson.

Tony Hall and his wife Cynthia have been guarded round the clock at their home since a terrifying email was sent to the BBC just hours after he took the dramatic decision to drop the controversial Top Gear star.
