I don't really understand why they've not suspended him from other BBC activity too in the short term - it especially doesn't look good on the BBC to let him on a show like Have I Got News for You which would make light of the situation. I'm not saying he should be forever banned from the BBC but I think a 3-6 month suspension would be fair.
Would that not break the law? since HIGNFY is made outwith the BBC.
They suspended Jonathan Ross and he produced his own show.
This started out as a stupid thing to do and was deliberately exacerbated by Cohens action briefing the Mail & leaking to the press. All that rubbish comparing Clarkson to Saville. It backed the DG into a corner. Clarkson hit someone and it was wrong and should be punished. Cohen used this to push his own agenda and briefed against the corporation. That cant be tolerated either and he should go now.
Fully agree. Cohen is not fit to run a bath IMO. Typical of the left-wing, politlcally-correct, push-out-the-majority agenda certain wings of the BBC keep driving.

Yeah it was Danny Cohen who abused a producer for 30minutes despite having numerous "final" warnings. Get a bloody grip
If Richard Bacon can recover from taking cocaine, or Leslie Grantham could be employed by the BBC as a convicted murderer, then Jeremy Clarkson can recover from, at worst, ABH.
The BBC could have done nothing but get rid of him under the circumstances, though it doesn't warrant the alleged actions that Private Eye reported.
I think Clarkson is a lot more employable than he would be had he have been sacked following one of the 2014 incidents. So in an odd way he's been lucky it was an act of violence rather than another act of speaking without thinking it through.
The paywalled website of a certain red top tabloid is reporting that the Top Gear set at Dunsfold Park has been completely dismantled and boxed up. Do they normally do this after a series is complete, or is it a standing set that stays in place in between series?

I seem to recall when Hammond had his crash news reporters did pieces from the hanger, and I believe it was fairly empty then. Also there was a fire a few years ago where some of their set was kept. As I think the final episode for the series is/was due for this Sunday it makes sense that the set it being packed away.

Definitely standard for a studio to be boxed up between series and I very much doubt Top Gear would be any different.

Am I to understand that this forum has degenerated into labelling people trolls for having an opinion?
