I think this thread has run its course and is beyond reasonableness now.

RIP Jeremy and condolences to his family. I recall several years of Beadle on my screen. There was something about his programmes that made it difficult to press the "off" button, and I am sure many of you will agree. Compulsive viewing that we all promised ourselves never to watch again, yet found ourselves tuned-in seven days later to watch more!!

Hopefully, Bail will lock this now.

Of course he will, now that BBC WORLD has had his say.

Nice to see ITV1 dedicating this evening's YBF to Jeremy.

Aww, bless. They've even set up a little website for him.

I must say ITV are excelling themselves with his death. A dedication at the end of YBF!, A very good website showing him at his best and a special programme on Monday albeit at a late time.

And for someone who hasn't been on ITV for about 10 years they didn't really have to bother! I'm so glad they are though.

IIRC he was on Millionaire last year, I can't remember who with, though.

He was on it with Sir Alan Sugar and got stuck on a question about the Norwegian Flag.. they answered it rightly though.

Hmm... Yeah I forgot about that.
But what I'm trying to say is that he didn't actually host anything on ITV since he finished You've been Framed. So in effect it's been a long time since he was an ITV star. And yes Banged up with Beadle wasn't long ago but that was just a segment on Saturday Night Takeaway so he didn't really host it.

And he has been quite diminished on TV in his later years with his last appearance on Sky News last month I think talking about Quizzes. But his appearances were far and few between.

I can just about imagine a celestial version of Beadle's About:

"Now, I'd like you to meet St Peter. The other day, he was fooled into thinking that the Pearly Gates had been sold for scrap. Just take a look at this...."

And he did look rough on Sky News last month besides putting on a lot of weight. Still, he kept on working.

If it's on Monday night will STV/Border Scotland even be showing it. This is normally Scotsport territory.

There's no Scotsport this Monday (no SPL fixtures over the weekend, due to the Scottish Cup).

well in 2001 he looked like his normal self, its amazing how ill health can affect a person physically, he did look rough on Sky News, I take it that was his last appearance on the TV?

Great tribute show from ITV there! Contained much archive footage with him at his best, from Beadles's About, Game for a Laugh, You've Been Framed, Chain Letters, Beadle's Hotshots and others!

Thoroughly enjoyable look back at his work - well done ITV. Very Happy
