At the risk of sounding slightly tasteless, might it emerge that life was actually a simulated reality set up by Jeremy Beadle as a joke? Would he suddenly spring out of one of those machines in the Matrix?
IMO it would have certainly made it a lot more entertaining.

Do you think he'll jump out the coffin at the last moment and say "you should have seen the look on your face?"
That would be very Beadle-esque.
Nah, but keep your eyes on the Vicar!

That's an interesting point.
100 Jeremy Beadles simultaneously pulling hilarious pranks on Neo in Matrix Reloaded would be quite a scene.

Likewise Gavin. Debate about a debate.. not for the first time, or the last I expect.
Quite an interesting write up of a meeting with Beadle at TV Cream

(not sure if the link has previously been given, I couldn't see it)
Thanks for that, made rather interesting reading

I think this thread has run its course and is beyond reasonableness now.
RIP Jeremy and condolences to his family. I recall several years of Beadle on my screen. There was something about his programmes that made it difficult to press the "off" button, and I am sure many of you will agree. Compulsive viewing that we all promised ourselves never to watch again, yet found ourselves tuned-in seven days later to watch more!!
Hopefully, Bail will lock this now.
