Beadle seriously ill with pneumonia

TV star Jeremy Beadle is in intensive care suffering from pneumonia.

The 59-year-old's family are at his bedside in a North London hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for several days.

His agent Michael Cohen said: "Anybody suffering from pneumonia is going to be pretty poorly. We are all hopeful he will pull through and be fine."

The You've Been Framed host had surgery to remove a kidney tumour in 2004 and battled lymphocytic leukaemia the following year.

His series Beadle's About ran for nine years from 1987 and was the world's longest continuously-running hidden camera show.


He's had some bad luck in the last few years. Wishing him well.

Why does everyone who does thoughtful things get ill? I've experienced such things in my family. I hope he'll be okay.

He's in hospital then - so what!


I don't want to see yet another episode where the media are just basically waiting for someone to die. Let the man be ill in peace without turning it into a media story and robbing an ill man of any remaining dignity - and then IF he snuffs it, report the story then.


Considering we've had threads about more important news stories closed due to supposedly not relating to TV presentation, I don't really see why this should be discussed here either.

Whenever I log onto TVF nowadays, there's always a thread or six floating at the top of the page dedicated to a dead or sick celebrity. It's getting repetitive, if we wanted eulogies, we'd visit their graves.

I think that members should be told on what they can and can't post about - because on one hand, it could become a dictatorship, on the other, the forum can become completely irrelevant to its purpose!
