Hu guys

Newbie here Smile Just wondering if anyone in the know has any idea when the James Bond films will be repeated on ITV ?
They always seem to be showing one-off repeats of Tommorw Never Dies, or Goldeneye on ITV2 and it would be nice to see Connery, Lazenby, Morre and Dalton back on ITV.

Thanks,

Tom

They did have a Bond season on ITV4 about a month ago. I would recommend the excellent new UE DVDs. The films are edited on TV anyway.

I'll admit, I have considered getting those DVD's but my only problem is money - they are a rather big buy for me and I've heard the earlier ones are edited and look grainy Confused Also, I have all thje rest on video so It would spoil how they look on the shelf Razz Here's the ones I need:

- Goldfinger
-Thunderball
-Diamonds are Forever
-Octupussy

And thats it - is it worth buying any of them on DVD?

No, not a fact, but a personal opinion. Don't be so arrogant. Evil or Very Mad

My personal favourite is Octopussy. Embarassed

"My favourite James Bond" and "Who I think is the definitive James Bond" actually differ! (Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan, respectively) Go figure! Confused

I've never liked Sean Connery's Bond in the slightest.

I'm sure there are lots of really good arguments as to why "Sean Connery is the best Bond", but I've never heard a Connery-Bond fan actually give one.

They always say "because he was first". Something about, say, how he played the part, would actually be a decent argument. Simply being the first doesn't necessarily mean he was the best.

David Ross was the first Kryten in Red Dwarf, but virtually any Red Dwarf fan would say that he was sh*t compared to Robert Llewellyn. Very few Doctor Who fans would rate the first Doctor (William Hartnell) very highly. Etc, etc.

I've got the last-but-one release of Tomorrow Never Dies, and it's cut compared to the version they've shown on ITV. Don't know about the newer DVD though.

can't you get a boxed set of all 50 odd films on DVD or something

You would need about a week to watch them all back to back though.

don't bother with tv recordings, as previously stated they are cut by the censors and then re-edited to fit the comercial breaks in.

They also have the closing credits chopped , ruining the songs which I think are an essential part of each individual bond movie. Saw 'For your eyes only' one time and it finished with the cast list zooming up the screen during the intro and as soon as Sheen Easton sung 'For your eyes only' the sound faded and they were on to the next programme.

... they should do a 'James Bond Theme Night' on ITV1 if they've not done that before..... and get viewers to vote for their all time classic or favourite Bond movie....!!!
