What's odd is that they're only bringing it back "for special occasions". It's not exactly expensive or complicated to make - you'd think they might be very keen to have it back as a regular series, but no...

Jeez! I never thought they'd bring that back.
I loved Jackanory when i was growing up. The storytellers i remember most are Kenneth Williams and Rik Mayall.
Didn't Kenneth Williams also narrate a childrens programme called Willow the Wisp?

Jackanory of course would tie in with the BBC idea of "educating" kids rather then just entertaining them but yes it is strange that it's just for special occasions.

Whatelse is on the BBC comeback trail I wonder, Play School?

Let's hope they don't bring back Cheggers Plays Pop!
