I was wondering if there is any sitcom that has widely been considered to be ITV's worst? I can imagine that a list of ITV's worst comedies could have been made in the past on other forums, but is there one comedy series that is generally regarded as the worst ever made by any ITV company?

I can remember that in the 90s some ITV comedies were nowhere near as good as those in previous decades (and this is putting it mildly). There was The Gingerbread Girl with Janet Dibley, which was a huge flop and was cancelled after just one series.

I'm pretty sure there was one called Barbara on Carlton. I found it very unfunny.

I thought Barbara was one of Carlton's better productions, actually... I found it funny. Not ROFLMAO funny, but enjoyable all the same.

Same here, I thought it was okay, quite decent enough for an ITV sitcom, especially one made by Carlton/Central.

There have been some bad ones, there was one with Davina McCall in the starring role, it might have been Sam's Game, and from what I remember that bombed big style.

The thing is there haven't been many bad ITV sitcoms IMO, the problem is that some of them age really badly, they were funny at the time, but when you watch them now you don't have the same fondness for them, for instance like The Upper Hand, very funny in the early 1990's, watched a repeat a few years ago and I didn't enjoy it.

For the worst, I wouldn't call it a sitcom, but it would have to be LWT's Copy Cats, I stumbled across it on Granada Plus about ten years ago and it was dire.

I wouldn't call Hot Metal dire, quite the opposite.

Especially when compared to Fiddlers Three which starred Peter Davison,
Room at the Bottom with James Bolam and Keith Barron,

To name but two.

High Street Blues occupied a few Fridays @ 7pm sometime in the 1990's.

LWT I think.

It was horribly dated then. (All shot in the studio with studio mockups for the outdoors too!)

Ron Pember(minor character actor) was one of the leads ISTR.

'My Husband & I', Mollie Sugden's unconnected follow up series to 'That's My Boy' from YTV.

I prefered 'That's My Boy' & that's saying something.
