Well last weeks new Sunday schedule, following the axing of CITV and My Favourate Hymns, didnt last very long. It appears they have already got rid of that gardening programme. The schedule for today is;

9.25am The Championship
10.30 Regional Programmes
11.00 Jonathan Dimbleby
11.55 Regional News
12.00pm Animal 24/7
12.30 The Crocodile Hunter Diaries
1.00 Film: The Searchers
3.10 Film: Dr Dolittle
5.50 The Unforgetable
6.25 Regional News

Personally I think the regional programme would be better suited to being at 12.00 with Animal 24/7 at 10.30am, they could then have shown another regional programme instead of the rubbish they have at 12.30pm so there would be a whole hour of regional output. And it appears that ITV are now going to show 2 films on a Sunday afternoon rather than the one they usually show.

Bring back the days when the regions did their own thing on a Sunday!

I think 09:25 is too early for The Championship - people used to miss it at 10:30 and I feel people are still waking up/having breakfast/reading papers at 09:25.

The regional programmes seemed to fit into the schedule 'better' at 12:00ish rather than such an early slot of 10:30!

Jez, do you remember a programme called Wales On Sunday aired on BBC about ten years ago? It was a leisurly look back at the week in Wales, with some news items, studio guests and live reports from around Wales. I really used to enjoy the programme and would love to see something like that return to a Sunday mornnig schedule.

One of the presenters was Roy Noble and the other a coloured woman whose surname was Mitchell (she presented Summer Scene with the late Caron Keating.)

Jonathon Dimbley on at 11:00!!!!!!!! Noooooooo

Im not usually up at 9.25am on a Sunday so its way too early.

Dont remember the BBC programme you refer to Owan, I have only ever watched HTV for regional progs. I do remember HTV Wales for a short while had something simular to what Central have in Central Newsweek, think HTV's version was called Playback, and it had all the big news stories for the past week. Of course HTV West had HTV Newsweek until quite recently.

It appears ITV's answer is to move ALL Sunday programmes about 2 hours earlier and then stick an extra film on at 1pm. Rolling Eyes

Moving Jonathan Dimbleby to 11am means that it has a fixed slot and doesn't get moved by the Grand Prix next week. It also means it no longer clashes with The Politics Show

Jonathan always repeats the time of next week's programme about three times when he signs off, because it moves around so much!

Anyway I believe that the 11am slot is only for the duration of the election campaign - it'll move back to a later slot after that.

Well its good it has a fixed slot but its still a bit early at 11.00am. And ive noticed next week because we have F1, Animal 24/7 has been moved to 10.30am and they are dropping the regional programme alltogether (apart from ITV Wales who are opting out)

Personally, I like the idea of Jonathan Dimbleby being on at 11. That means I don't have to fill as much time watching bits and bobs of Heaven & Earth and Countryfile between Breakfast With Frost and The Politics Show.

I also believe the 11 a.m. slot is only for the duration of the Election period. It was for the sake of simplicity, 11 a.m. and 11p.m, except it is 11.10 p.m. tomorrow. Laughing Obviously Jonathan was not told of the time change.
