Ant & Dec overkill.... Rolling Eyes

Ant and Dec haven't been on ITV for over 4 months. Depending on when this new show starts it might be closer to 5.

The quiz sounds like a good idea but why shove it on every day? ITV do like to ram things do our throats.
You don't even know how this quiz will work yet, it may be like Millionaire was back when it first started. That was on every day and nobody complained

Well 'The Con Test' will be airing sooner rather then later. Their was a contestant plea ad earlier tonight.

As for stretching it over a week. It sounds to me like an event type show rather then just another game-show. Something that needs to be run over a week to build up tension and the momentum and keep it - culminating with someone winning 1 million pounds. Having a 1 week gap between each show would kill everything. But hey it's ITV isn't it? anything to have a go. They can't even advertise big film premieres these days without anal losers having a go Rolling Eyes

I believe this Forum is about the pros and cons of TV, so if myself and others have an opinion different to yours we are entitled to air it without being called "anal losers".

If ITV, just for once, offered us an exciting new show with a different host and aired in a weekly slot then I for one would give it a go. I personally don't watch TV religiously which is why ITV doesn't fit into my viewing schedule any more. I used to love Corrie but now I just can't keep up so I don't watch.

As for Ant & Dec, I just don't rate them much at all, that's my own personal opinion. Now I know they are loved by the general public but ITV just use them far too much. So they haven't been on four months, but have you seen their forthcoming schedule? A new quiz, interviewing the Princes, Celebrity Golf. They will be reading the news next.

Anyway, those are my two main points, why you find them anal is beyond me.

I agree. Ant and Dec are used too much. They should give someone else a chance. They did gameshow marathon, Im a Celeb and the Christmas Takeway programme all within the space of a few months, so although they havent been on screen recently they have been overused in the past.

Well, Ant and Dec haven't been on air at all this year - and though overuse can be a problem a show hosted by them is much more appealling by the numerous bland tobotic presenters around at the moment!

Picking up on a point eariler about it running over a week - don't know much about the format so can't comment specifically - but I'd agree overall that ITV need more formats which can bring in viewers week in, week out - rather than providing a boost to their ratings for a few consequtive nights once or twice a year!

Does anyone think it will be streched out on a weekday basis with a big jackpot on the saturday night. Itv's answer to the new pog show, maybe but the £1 mil prize in any show is looking a bit tired

ps. Does anyone agree that the pog show is more suited to c4 than itv. I do

How many people have actually won anything like that amount on a gameshow though ? A handful. If £1m is 'tired', what prize do you propose ? Anything lesser and I'd expect you'd say it's 'cheap'.

And to your second point, no not really, I'd never have had the Paul O'Grady teatime style show down as typical Channel 4 territory. It's a case of Channel 4 stealing ITV's clothes as they follow a more populist, mainstream light entertainment route in a ratings grab.

It's worked for them, but more evidence of a general trend of dumbing down in this populist ratings led agenda.

Eight. (Actually, nine if you include the lady who won a million on Chris Evans' Virgin radio show). Four on WWTBAM, two on Survivor, one on TFI Friday's "Someone's Going to Be A Millionaire" special and one on The Vault.

Lookee here!

I'm saying that the £1mil dosent really bring in the viewers or surprise them anymore(except dond) hey could bulldoze their house down( that'd add more tension) and they could plsay for a new house. get it werong and you become homeless
