I think what kind of makes these idents work is they've kept it simple and not tried to stick to some kind of restrictive theme or invent a **** meaning behind all the idents. They're films that introduce programmes - nothing more, nothing less - and that is what makes these idents work, even the ones which aren't particularly good.
I've kinda warmed to the idents, they're not the most groundbreaking, however its pretty adaptable.
I agree. The logo colour picking works very well, but for me these idents wouldn't work so well as an identity if they didn't contain the musical identity. It's become very diverse, but works incredibly well IMO.

I also think the "same but different" kind of approach across the channels works. Only ITV3 really has a unique identity, with ITV2 and ITV4 essentially just having funkier/manlier versions of the main ITV idents.

Not to forget CITV! Their new look is much better, it makes the channel stand out. It needed a good refresh it used the same "See you tommorow at 6am" ending sequence for almost 2 years!! My children even noticed who arent TV pres fans at all!
