ITV's six new idents

Is that cake ident really going to be called Royal Baby? Does it even have a baby in it?

Apiarist (which I personally would have called Bee Keeper) was shown at the start of News at Ten tonight.

Sorry, but I'm a few thousand miles away from my pc for the next couple of weeks!

It's not 'going' to be called Royal Baby, it's called 'Royal Baby'.


'Urban Bees' to give it its actual name, we made up names before we knew the actual names.

I'm guessing its called royal baby as it will be used when Will and Kate's baby is born and put on just before the news that day.
What do you expect them to do for that occasion tumble tower? Ask Kate to hold a new born baby and pretend its hers in preparation for when she has the baby so itv can use it?

I wonder why when ITV upload clean versions of their idents, they don't upload every one. With the Winter and Spring sets they didn't upload every one, and now with the Summer set they haven't uploaded them all. It's a shame as it often seems to be the idents with the better music pieces that don't get uploaded.

Where did you find out that the Bee keeper ident is officially called Urban Bees ? It's called Apiarist on The Ident Gallery. Generally I label idents (title names on my DVD recorder, and my master record in an Excel spreadsheet) as per the names given on The Ident Gallery. Where I've not been able to see an ident on The Ident Gallery, I've tended to make up a name.


Of course I don't expect a pregnant Kate to hold someone else's baby to use whilst filming for an ident to be used when her own baby is born. Is it really necessary to use it for that one occasion only? It seems an awful lot of fuss for someone in the Royal Family having a baby. That's what I see as the price to pay for having a monarchy, I bet Ireland, France, Germany, FYR Macedonia don't make a song and dance of their heads of state getting married, having babies etc. like we do with the Royal Family.

I can't believe you just said that! The royal family are amazing and everyone of us should be proud to have one. They bring a lot of money to this country and a lot of tourists which is great for our businesses.

I've just compared The Ident Gallery with ITV's YouTube page, and noticed some name differences for certain idents between the two.

Where a name differs, which is the official name for that ident? Why do some of the names on The Ident Gallery differ from the names for the same ident on ITV's YouTube page?

I suspect that Andrew will have given the idents his own name, from what he can see in the ident, and will not have checked every name on the ITV YouTube channel and changed them accordingly.

The official name will likely be the one on ITV's YouTube page.
