ITV's six new idents

Seems like the Spring idents haven't fully disappeared - the bowling balls and living statue idents aired this evening.

I've mentioned it before, but the music is key for me in these idents, and they keep managing to create new arrangements, I know a few are shared with other idents, but the majority are unique.

Are there fewer idents in this set? Not seen many, plus not so sure on the choice of 'Fishing Boat' for the news, it's no 'Lift', or 'Control Room'.

I'd understand having 'control room' as a news ident but what did 'lift' have to do with news?

The music, the fact that it featured ITV News correspondents and usually used before the news.

Where did you here the 'fact' they are itv news correspondents?

Well one of them looks like Laura Kuenssberg - I'm not sure it was ever confirmed.

I find it hard to believe ITV went out of their way to find extreme lookalikes of Laura Kuenssberg and Richard Edgar. I think we can definitely assume it's them.

It does seem odd that they have introduced fewer idents for the summer set... unless there are still some to come of course.

Also there seems to be fewer idents suitable for entertainment shows and serious news programmes.

I think Pigeons is suitable for news as the music is quite sombre (I believe it's the same music as used in the night cyclists ident (from the winter set)

Yes it is the same track.

Just seen a new ident before the news. It was a guy washing his bike (I think). The soundtrack was the same as the street dancers one from the Spring set.

Guessing there have been more new ones seen today?
