ITV sounds just fantastic this Autumn. I'm looking forward to more one off and 2 part dramas. Beneath the Skin was brilliant recently. The 2nd Booze Cruise and Jane Hall's Big Bad Bus ride are hopefully going to be worth waiting for. Take my Mother inlaw returning and Footprints in the snow I'll be watching to.

Haha; ITV really has no integrity! Instead of making a programme attempting to help these women overcome their insecurities, ITV is instead trying to 'cure' them by paying for surgery and thus encouraging others to do the same rather than to seek psychological help (which is what is needed in most of these cases).

This article from Media Week, confirming that shows from September will be broadcast with a special ITV50 ident.

ITV is to launch a £5m-plus marketing campaign to back the vital autumn schedule on its struggling flagship channel. Director of programmes Nigel Pickard told agencies and advertisers at the launch of a schedule full of star-studded drama shows on ITV1 that it was going "all out for volume" as it ditched some of the more experimental items which featured in its widely panned spring and summer line up.

The broadcaster has, in its own words, "brought out the big guns" for autumn, with stars such as Ray Winstone, Robert Lindsay and Caroline Quentin all appearing in new dramas productions.
"We're bringing out our strongest shows and supporting them with a major marketing campaign," said Pickard. ITV's marketing blitz will include press and outdoor, with a major poster campaign for Winstone's detective drama Vincent.

Despite its on-air promotional budget being valued at around £200m a year, ITV has been severely outgunned by off-air marketing campaigns by the likes of BSkyB, which launched a £27m strategy to back its programming last autumn. Recently appointed marketing director Clare Salmon, formerly of the AA, will spearhead the marketing blitz, which will coincide with a forthcoming rebrand of the ITV identity.

Shows from September will carry an ITV50 ident, to mark the half century of the broadcaster and Salmon is thought to be ditching its blue and yellow branding as part of a new look for the "ITV family" of shows.
The broadcaster is expected to plough some of the extra £20m it was given towards its autumn budget to beef up its marketing, which will focus on its unveiling of big drama shows. Pickard told the launch that ITV was "putting all our energies into the things that make ITV great".

Managing director of ITV Sales, Graham Duff, said at the launch: "We're supremely confident that this autumn will be strong on ITV1 and right across all our channels."One analyst told Media Week: "ITV has no option but to spend more money marketing ITV1. It's vital that it does all it can to attract audiences in the face of ever more competition."
