Incidentally, why always PRESS RED?

All of the coloured buttons work to access MHEG (afaik) so Blue or Yellow could easily be used for ITV.

In a world of confusion, consistency is key. I guess whoever developed the interactive service first, chose the red button and all broadcasters have simply followed suit to make it as logical and consistent as possible for viewers.

And blue is already used by Sky for flipping through the favourites.

Good point... how about ITVtext then? The 'Text' button would work on Sky and Freeview. At the end of the day, there's no need to have red in the logo - BBCi is black and white.

Here's a sneak preview of Pop Idol interactive. Looks like the same old ITV layout. ITV never seemed to use the green button for their interactive services that often, and this seems no different. Note also the four squares at the top right, presumably where "ITVi" will appear on the main menu.

Sorry about the poor quality.

Didn't Sky or someone have an interactive service relating to the Incredible Hulk or something and used Press Green rather than red?
