ITV have issued a press release about their new interactive service, including the logo. However the ITV Press website is playing silly buggers tonight and is incredibly slow. Can somebody download the release and extract the logo. Apparently it's red and black.

Red and Black? That doesn't sound good. I'l check it out now...

The site's going really fast for me. I'm on 56k and I'm downloading 1mb a minute! A few days ago it took me almost three hours to download Flash, which is around 45mbs.

ITV INTERACTIVE UNVEILS NEW CONSUMER BRAND - ITVi

ITV Interactive has today unveiled the first launch phase of its new interactive television brand - ITVi.

The first four services to launch under the new brand in the coming weeks are Premier League Interactive, Champions League Interactive, Pop Idol Interactive and ITVi 24:7.

The new football season marks the first stage of ITV’s interactive roll out, with a new service behind the red button on ITV’s flagship football programme The Premiership, which launched on Saturday 16 August. Viewers will be able to put questions directly to presenters and pundits, and have the chance to voice their own opinion. And they will also be able to access background information on teams and players and other relevant editorial content including statistics, league tables, news and results. The service will also be available during broadcasts of On The Ball and The Goal Rush.

ITVi’s interactive service will also be available on ITV’s Champions League coverage. Last season’s games brought some of ITV’s highest ratings and this season has the potential to be just as addictive for football fans.

Pop Idol is back and promises once again to be the must see event this autumn. When the audition shows are over and the voting starts, the new series goes interactive giving viewers the chance to vote for their favourite contestants via their remote control. Last year’s final alone attracted an audience of 13 million and 8.7m votes so the new series offers huge potential for interactive voting. The enhanced service will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes gossip and news.

From mid-September, ITVi 24:7, ITV’s 24-hour interactive service will be up and running, allowing viewers to access the interactive service they want at any time of day or night and not just in programme time. This service will be built on during the autumn as new ITVi services are launched.

ITV’s groundbreaking partnership with Littlewoods Gaming to provide gaming and betting services will also be added to the ITVi offering in the coming months. Under the terms of the deal, Littlewoods Gaming is ITV’s exclusive gaming and sports betting provider and will launch a range of services around sports, entertainment and daytime programming.

A small launch event to showcase ITVi will be held at ITV Network’s offices in October (date tbc - more details to follow).

Jane Marshall, Controller of ITV Interactive said: “This is a very exciting time for ITV Interactive as we start to bring more and more services to viewers and advertisers under the ITVi brand. We will be building on all these initiatives over the coming months and will have a comprehensive interactive offering up and running by the end of this autumn.”

Not a huge fan of those colours, and the 'i' is in Arial Alternative, just like the 'i' in BBCi. Although just like the rest of the logo too.

I don't have enough time to upload the logo now, but it's easy to describe.

It's in the style of the ITV2 Logo. However, the background of the first three boxes containing the ITV letters is black, and the background of the fourth box (which contains the i) is red.

It certainly doesn't look nice. It'd be so much better in the style of the ITV1 logo, and in the right colours.

My mind is finding it difficult to choose between 'unlucky coincidence' or 'theiving *******'.

ITV branding is about as bizarre as a goat operating a level crossing. They no longer have a central logotype, they've now become the BBC. Did no-one think "Oh hang on, this looks a tad too similar to someone else". Even the i isn't a million miles away from the BBCi i. Is someone at the design agency having a private joke?

Well if they are calling it "ITVi" they really do need to use the same i as in ITV, and didn't ITV use the ariel alternative logo first?!

Well you must admit the BBC were first with the three/four blocks idea.

Forgetting the whole blocks/font argument, I'd say it's rather dodgy of ITV to call their interactive service ITVi anyway...
