ITV50 Promos

A few more older stars would be nice. The computer animation is very good although it is a bit wierd having a 2005 Dickie Davies and George Cole with 1970's/80's Tommy Cooper and Leonard Rossiter. It's a bit inconsistent, and there are lots of very minor current 'stars' most of whom I don't recognise most.

Anyone know who is that shaking hands with Tommy Cooper? and for that matter who is sitting with Parky and Tarrant? It looks like Geoge Cole, but on the next shot he's sitting next to a woman. And all those blonde womenin the middle, who are they?

The film shown before Millionaire, with the people in archive clips walking into each other is reallly very good

Very good - but as has been said too many unknown zlist 'celebs' are featured

And they should have used footage from The Professionals* on Gordon Jackson, instead of Upstairs Downstairs

I really want to get these promos recorded but I am rubbish at guessing when they might appear.
Can anyone tell me the sort of time they would be on or which programme you reckon they may be shown before or after? I know nobody knows the exact times but there must be certian shows ITV would show these promos before.

I would guess they're most likely to appear before ITV's flagship programmes such as X Factor and Millionaire as we saw last night. I'd wager there'll be one before Corrie tonight... although don't shout at me if there isn't.

What program can be used to view the video clips?

I can't view these video clips, as they won't play in quicktime or windows media player

The high-profile programmes like The X Factor are the obvious choices - but the best chance of seeing the extended promos in full is around programmes where they don't show adverts.

Sunday evening is a prime example, with very few ads until after Emmerdale. Also around the mid-week regional programming and Tonight with Trevor McDonald - plus of course late at night.


It wouldn't surprise me if the 2 min version aired tonight before Emmerdale!

I'd forgotten about that, I'd say the middle of Emmerdale where there are no ads would be more likely. The used to often show the full ITV Day promo at this time

I saw the ITV50 promotions last weekend but haven't seen them much since.

There does seem to be some GREAT promotions on ITV1 at the moments - notably the ITV News at 18:30 and the gameshow marathon ones.

The ITV News one isn't really an ITV 50 promo, it's just promoting Mary's return to the Evening News next week.
