Probably not, bloody stick in the muds.
itv is 50 years old in london ... scottish tv and grampian did not start till a few years later.
Yeah but not all regions in the ITV1 area are 50 years old either.
regions in england are owned by itv plc, where decisions are taken centrally, no doubt smg will make their decision independently - weighing up whether to tow the line with the english itv50 campaign - or to celebrate locally.
once again your constant assertion that smg should be taken over just so you get the "nice" itv idents is idiotic. i bet you a penny to a pound, in 5 years when smg have been swallowed up by itv plc you will be one of the tartan waving wingers bleating on about how scotland is an independent country and how you're sick of watching an england-centric tv channel.

Nope, because it practically is already. The programming is the same. I just don't see the point in SMG if all they're doing is giving us different presentation.
And most people want local presentation back, but it ain't going to happen! Regional telly on ITV1 is going, it nearly is already. I wish SMG would just give up, it's not like the older days when we got lots of local programming.

(please State If i'm still as bad as Scotman working for AOL)
if SMG Did sell to ITV PLC (no very likely) ITV would have to go the same way as itv welsh, but I doubt this as many independent people of Scotland could not stand for that, and it more or likely that there keep Scottish TV slogan and scarp the Grampian slogan.
Confuse everybody.
(As I have been doing for last 12 hours, a New record by any chance? )

SMG being split up will probably happen in the medium to long term. A lot of people want Virgin Radio and once that's gone the rest of it will be carved up to various media groups probably. UTV has a better chance of surviving as an independent due to the fact they have a competent management team unlike SMG
SA
They don't even need to make special logos for SMG,UTV or Channel.
They just need to replace it with their normal logos.
