ITV50 Presentation

I guess it would just be ITV Wales, it the same way it's still called ITV1 on air in England.

I just noticed a yellow version of the ident was aired.

Six minutes into this 50 Greatest Shows programme, and they get something wrong already. Family Fortunes started in 1980, not 1978.

Or indeed, just put them up as MPEGs. Then people who don't/can't/won't have the appropriate proprietary media players on their machine will be able to view it.

Andy Collins' stint at presenting after Les Dennis was forgotten too, though I suppose that is understandable. I thought the programme ended in 2003 in the ex Crossroads slot not 2002 as stated?

Nope, Andy Collins only hosted the one series in that year.
Anyway, just noticed I'm talking in the wrong thread...

UTV use a clean feed of ITV1 overnight with no announcers, so it should be possible to capture the idents clean

On the whole the package is great - though I think the ending of the idents could be a bit better, the fireworks are a bit of an anti-climax.


And as for the ITV50 on ITV3 DOG - is that really neccessary?

Very nice presentation today from ITV, better than what I expected!

I've really liked what I've seen too....they've done far better than I thought they would, since the static versions of the logo were abit boring, yet they have come up with a very nice animation and music.

I hope someone manages to catch some clean feeds during the "wee small hours", and an example of the Wales variant.

I think these are all supposed to last the entire week of their celebrations.

I know it's been mentioned already, but are the ITV Sport stings new today?

They are very nice taking on the lovely purple. Very Sky Sports in my opinion with the lines and glassy logo.

I also noticed that the purple lines were used within the graphics on the Boxing tonight, with rotating astons, and noises too. Very nice, but has Sky Sports design team gone to ITV!
It would actually be nice if ITV Sport could have a coherent look to each programme.

I do particularily like the glassy effect on the ITV Sport logo, and it's interesting that it's on an angle.

Also interesting that they've launched it now, if everything is going to change in a few months. Surely if ITV4 is going to be first to reveal the new ITV Logo, then they will have to change it everywhere won't they? Which will be the first major scale operation of a logo change for ITV, won't it (including their channels). In 1998, wasn't it just the ITV logo added to trailers and local idents, and the ITV Sport logo that came around?

I don't think there is going to be a completely new logo. I'm certain a lot will change quite soon, but I doubt the teletext-like font of ITV is going to change anytime soon.

I would also be incredibly suprised if ITV changed their logotype.
