Next week on Calendar they are going to be looking into the archives as part of ITV50 and also having special guests in the studio. Marylyn Webb and Bob Rust will be among those poping in for a chat. Sadly at times like this you remember that Richard Whiteley will not be part of the celebrations.

The same sort of thing may also take place in your region

Plus as well as all that there's those special editions of the ITV Lunchtime News and ITV Evening News, The Shot that Shook the World, plus as just mentioned in the CITV thread, a special ITV50 edition of MOM.

There is another The Bill Live special on Thursday 22nd September as part of ITV50 as well.

The Bill
A live special to mark ITV's 50th birthday. Sun Hill is under siege when a distraught father holds the station hostage. PC Dan Casper's attempt at playing the hero goes seriously wrong and he and the real Gabriel are shot. DC Terry Perkins comes into his own and acts as mediator while Acting Superintendent Amanda Prosser flounders. DS Phil Hunter and DC Zain Nadir are sent on a dangerous rescue mission.
Starring: Chris Jarvis, James Barriscale, Bruce Byron, Serena Gordon, Scott Maslen, TJ Ramini
(Stereo, Subtitles)

I'm sure they'll pull it off again. It went well last time apart from Graham Cole (PC Stamp) delaying a line, but it was hardly noticeable.

I take it Fred and Debbie are doing a special show that includes the South East area as well then.

Now I would have thought "Young" Richard Wyatt would be presenting this, or indeed "Uncle" Bruce himself. I wonder if they mention Annie St John at all and HTV West's mascot Oscar the owl? Smile Let's hope the dreaded ITV West name doesn't come up to many times either!

Don't forget The Shot That Shook The World, on the 27th.

Just spotted an ITV50 break-bumper during MOM.

It had the ITV50 logo in the middle of the screen on a blue background with firework effects.

A good start to the 50 greatest shows so far.

Philip and Cat are doing a good job presenting, and some good clips so far. Also the first part was almost half an hour long!

Of course, the drawback with this programme is that, with a few exceptions, it's showing how much ITV has deteriortated, though of course some of this is also down to changes in tastes.

But is it just me or does it look as if the populist programmes are going to be near the top - not necessarily the best programmes of course.

I hope Minder is in the top ten, it would be an injustice if it didn't, seeing as it ran from 1979-1994.

BTW what is Carlton / LWT... sorry ITV 1 London doing
