Granada's programme was presented by Anthony Wilson.
The 1st part wall mostly about the first years of Granada. Also the 1st part included Granada showing other people's talents like The Beatles and more.
The 2nd part was about comedies and dramas that Granada has produced like Coronation Street, Sam, Jewel in the Crown, Upfront, The Dustbinmen, The Video Entertainers and The Comedians.
The 3rd part was about more programmes Granada has produced for the network and for other channels. Programmes like University Challenge, World in Action, Seven Up, The Krypton Factor, What the Papers Say, Cold Feet, Prime Suspect, Cracker and Tonight. Also in the 3rd part was Granada's local news offering, Granada Reports/Tonight. Shows what Granada has done in the news part for the North West. Famous Reports like the Warrington Bombing, the Shipman Inquiry, the Toxteth Riots and the Manchester Bombing. This part included a interview with two famous presenters, Bob Greaves and Bob Smithies. It also included a programme called Reports Action presented by Bob Smithies and Anna Ford. This part also featured Granada's offering of a daytime show for the network, Yorkshire and Thames put a bid for the daytime slot, but Granada got it with This Morning. And showed a comedy programme called Upfront.
The last part featured programmes Granada have made out of the studio and sometimes out of the country, programmes like Savage Skies and World in Action and Seven Up. This part also included Granada's sports offerings for the North West. And some more Coronation Street and some blasts from the past.
All in all a very interesting programme. And it was shown in 16:9, I think.

The Six O'Clock clips were excellent, although I felt our regional programme polished over most of the regional content and went for the network programmes that ATV/Thames/LWT/Carlton made over the last 50 years.
At the end, the narrator mentioned that ITV London is still comitted to 'quailty regional programming'
Umm...so why is LT so dire, the Sunday political programme presented by a 'shock jock' and The London Programme in a slot where hardly anyone knows when it's on.
London regional programming died on the 31st December 1992.

The programme in the London region didn't have a presenter. Not sure who the narrator was.
It was interesting enough, I suppose. A few old idents here and there. Nice to see some clips from the Six O'Clock Show.

Did any of the regions versions have their own opening titles or did they all use the ITV50 sting over and over again?

Tyne Tees used the ITV50 sting then their own titles (grid of idents with ident music) after. They played bits of the Startup music at the start as well... and the last part of the startup (Instrumental Blaydon Races) for the closing music.

Anyone else getting tired of the endless '50' programmes? They are interesting I suppose and it'll only come once.

Some captures from the Yorkshire version. There were no titles, just the ITV50 sting and background.

ITV West at 47 was quite good actually. A fair bit on TWW, but the rest the programme was really about HTV West. ITV West was barely mentioned thankfully. Loads of idents right from the off.
Great clips from Report West & HTV West including Uncle Bruce's cockups and Young Richard being bashed by a plane! Annie St John popped up, Mr & Mrs host Alan Taylor. Clips from Children of the Stones, Robin of Sherwood etc etc.
I had to laugh at Lisa when she announced at the end that ITV West will no doubt produce more shows in future.... UM HELLO!

An anagram of carp, presented by Lisa Azwas; very similar to the local news programme.
(Was that a long enough paragraph?)

So can everyone give a brief paragraph explaining what their regional ITV50 programme was like?
