ITV4 Logo: Is it possible?

(September 2005)

I don't have the image as I can't find the thread, but I saw the new ITV4 logo, it was like the original ITV2 Logo, but the ITV is under it and the square is silver.

However, Digital Spy said (i'm sure) that ITV would be changing their LOGO for ITV50 in September. ITV4 isn't launched until November.

Is this a mistake or is it one of those temporary logos... or is ITV going to even bother with a new logo at all?

The ITV4 logo has been around for a while now. Notice, however, it does not contain the classic blue and yellow style which is to be rebranded, and therefore probably does not need a change.

I remember the image BOL I0X is talking about, and apart from the itv being under the 4, it is also joined together (as in the corporate logo) and not split into 3 squares as currently used by ITV 1/2/3

Perhaps the logo wont be changing, but the colours and ident themes will.

ITV have said ITV 4 will be the first example of BBC Broadcast's new look for ITV...

Blimey, I always thought things had to be around for quite a while (say 20 or more years) before they became a classic! Smile

From that image, it doesn't look like the letters are in seperate blocks either, going back to the original 1998 design.

I actually like ITV1's current presentation. It's versatile, and we have seen many variants over the last year. It's what I would call a proper channel ident (but maybe I'm old-fashioned)

It's not as good as the Carlton star, but at least it hasn't got the Z-list celebs which we had to endure for 2 years.

Admittedly, the blue & yellow colour scheme was not the most inspirational choice, but I hope that BBC Broadcast don't come up with something worse than ITV currently have. Shocked Shocked
