The new ITV4 logo can be found in a PDF document on the ITV plc website. The logo uses a very dark blue colour and an iTunes-like metal texture.

See this page for the PDF (Merrill Lynch TMT conference 2005 - Charles Allen).

Edit: A clearer mocked up version...

That '4' was so designed because it is the closest you can get to a numeral 4 on a 7-segment display. But why would you want to use it for any other purpose when it's clearly a 'y' and not a '4'?

And they've married that to a grey metallic colour scheme? Why? It couldn't look more retro if it tried.

I'm not sure this logo is ever going to go to air. Aren't they going to go for a complete revamp of the whole ITV brand when ITV4 launches, which includes a new logo?

That's what I thought. I wouldn't be surprised if this logo is just a stand-in, until the new ITV logo is revealed.

EDIT: At least I hope so. It's vile!!

I have a feeling this "rebrand" will never happen.

It will, but it probably won't be a complete overhaul, just a few touch-ups maybe, but let's not talk too soon! If I was a senior at ITV and saw that ITV4 logo which claims to be its launch logo, I'd try and make sure I'd rebrand as quickly as possible!

With this new look coming to ITV, I pray SMG take note that their presentation is the worst on British TV.

I don't see the problem with it? As for this supposed 'rebrand', I don't think it'll be as dramatic as some people think. They'll probably just change the colours or something.

I doubt they'd commission what was BBC Broadcast to change some colours.

They could still be commissioning them to create new idents but with the same logos? Theres still a lot of scope there

I was just thinking this.

To me it sounds very likely, purely because of how much ITV are plugging their 'family of channels' and the 'recognised brand' stuff.

I think it'll just be new pres for the existing logos.
