In my view, ITV3 is the best asset ITV has at the moment. This is where we get variety.. okay, they may show the same programmes but at least we are given different programmes to watch every couple of weeks or so.
Its great to see a bit of Malcolm Hebden in A Bit of a Do instead of Corrie all the time.
BBC Four has also been good in recent months... since the TV on Trial season, it has started to show classic drama and comedy rather than documentaries which has been great. I even watched Up Pompeii for the first time last night....ooooh titter ye not!

Given that the system and companies which produced most of these programmes has gone it will be a very short step forward.
Ten years from now will we consider repeats of Love Island, celebrity get me out of here and on to the Telly and er, what else does ITV produce? Nothing. Most of the 'quality drama' is produced independently by companies such as Greelit. All of which own the programming outright after two years.
ITV 3 may keep a bit of revenue coming in but not for long.
If Charles Allen does go on Tuesday or Wednesday he will be leaving a right mess for someone to clean up. Falling revenue & falling viewing figures. There are few studios to sell, higher spectrum costs on their way and a shortage of programmes in the pipeline. Next years commissions are very sparce.
