ITV3 cropping?

Just noticed that "Doctor Finlay" is going out in 14:9 in a 16:9 frame. Was it originally 14:9 or have they started doing a CBBC on... well, just about everything?

Yes, I noticed this aswell.
Its a shame for the people that hjave their box set to 16:9 letterbox as they get those horrid black bars left and right.
I hope this isn't a permanent thing as it makes it look awful, they didnt crop The Darling Buds Of May and A Touch Of Frost (when it was 4:3) so I hope they dont continue to crop Dr Finlay.

Are we sure this isn't one of those shows that originally went out with thin black bars on the top & bottom of the screen, as so many dramas in the early-mid 90s did?
