Trouble was never good to start with. flextech so a gap and tried to fill it but all that was on it was repeats of old series, like Fresh price, Heartbreak high etc.
What, so T4 should have continued as a favour to aspiring presenters and broadcasters? That's mental!
It's not a catch 22 situation at all. Viewers deserted T4, Trouble etc. years ago - it's totally disingenuous to suggest that they left because there was nothing for them.
Agreed. I think something has to be done to make British TV different, instead of just these American imports of comedy, kids shows and many more. I think these channels need to invest, Ofcom has to do something, quick. They should form a partnership with the BBC and ITV about getting new presenters into TV. I know I have gone off topic but in todays paper it was saying about Jake Humphrey and how he had to "cheat his way into television" and he said it is hard to so.

Tickets hadn't even been on sale 2 weeks
And to be fair, this thread is the first time I've heard of it and I'm into this kind of thing so poor publicity seems ablaze.
T4 on the beach & definitely its ticket sales were pushed a hell of a lot by Channel 4 through advertising across Channel 4, 4Music, E4 & T4. The first thing that I've heard about it is on here, if ITV had have pushed sales, and sold tickets at a reasonable price, then it could have been given a chance, especially if they'd have teamed up with company, for example a mobile network to help spread the message.
I think it's an idea that has been quickly shelved before getting started.

Agreed. The Big Reunion Tour was heavily promoted and was so successful that they added further dates, so they could have easily had the same sort of promotion for Summer Sets on the Beach if they wanted to.
Interestingly, Kiss FM's 'Kiss Beach' concert in Great Yarmouth, due to be held for the first time this year, was cancelled due to opposition from 'angry' local residents (though the official line being taken is that it was due to 'scheduling'.
