Hmmm. Very nice indeed! And it's in widescreen. The news is on ITV1 at the mo so I'm not sure about that (although UTV was happily switching last night)
Well the 10am expected has been and gone but the day is young!

The dog looks better now its coloured but it is still a bit big
Well itv2 were testing out their interactivity of the millionaire game which is to start this saturday on itv2
yesterday the god was grey all day but today it has been coloured blue and yellow for programmes and grey for all the bits inbetween - why? just leave it one or the other!
Also i dont know if its just me or what but the programme output of itv2 seems to be on the up! Take last night for instance - Pop Idol Extra live (for three hours), Miss World 2001, Gatecrashers, the late repeat of Coronation Street and David Lettermen!
This was actually a better line up than over on itv1.
Keep up the good work itv2 and i prefer your idents to the new bbc2 ones!
ITV2 is suffering from the same widescreen signalling problems which have forced all ITV1 companies (apart from UTV) to move to 4:3 only feeds (with 14:9 used for 16:9 programmes)
The aspect switching information experimentally used on Scottish, Grampian, and also Carlton and a few others, was causing really bad glitching.
The format used when aspect switching was not used was unacceptable to non-widescreen telly owners - as the set top boxes always thought they were getting 4:3 so would display widescreen as tall and thin people! (It would not be possible to force the box into centre cut or letterbox mode)
ITV 2 are still having the above problems - so will either need to go 14:9/4:3 (which they don't do anywhere else - unlike ITV1 who have analogue outlets to service) or sort out aspect switching prior to proper launch.
BTW - My pet theory for UTV being the only people successfully aspect switching is that they are a special case - their pictures have to be fed across the Irish sea - and are probably coming over a different type of video link. (As this was known about - they sorted out a different way of widescreen signalling and aspect switching?)
Channel TV is the odd one out - it doesn't broadcast in 16:9 at all on the Islands (they don't have ITV Digital) - and the feed it opts in and out of is the Meridian analogue feed received off-air... Apparently they have parked a satellite truck next to the Jersey TV transmitter to get the Channel TV signal back to NTL in England, until a fibre-optic link between Jersey and England is available.

hi, i'm linked to this because this is near to what i'm thinking.
I turned to ITV2 at 12:55 and was shoked to millionaire on with colour dog before 1;30 but then guessed that was someting to do with ther interactive trails although it wasn't the last show(was the last before the all women show because chris said how lonly he and dave(contestant ) would feel). I take it you saw the trailer right after for the new look ITV2(also shown before 1:40 start.). Quit cool it went on about the new look, the live shows(pop idol extra) films and interactive millionaire with a preview of what it will look like plus it clipits of all four logos. Did any get this captured?
Also before 3 they did a shorter one with diffrent ending, '2 scream ITV2' instead of '2 play'(i think)
So for everyone who normally gets ITV2: Has it been on all day then? I take it most who have replied about this have been watching on Sky Dig. Or am I wrong?
