This is ridiculous. ITV2 are playing at silly b*ggers again with one their best shows. Once again, they've
shunted The Late Show with David Letterman to ungodly timeslots like 3am, and for what? A bunch of
utterly pointless sh*te . . .3 mind-numbingly dull hours of f*ck*ng Pap Idol Extra! Every bl**dy night!

It's bad enough they play "timeslot tennis" with what is the most original show on the entire channel,
and worse when they pushed Letterman out of the schedules in favour of the virtually non-stop live
streamed coverage of a bunch of Z-List micro-celebs slumming it in a fake Australian rainforest.

Why are they doing again exactly what they were doing about 18 months ago, displacing the best
show in their late night schedules, with 3 nightly hours of what is total and utter waste of airtime?
What kind of braindead idiots and total f*ck*ng morons are in charge of that fr*gg*ng channel?!?

Tonight (or tommorrow morning) Letterman's on at 03:00, then on Wednesday morning at 05:10

ITV2 have gone too far this time. It's time they gave up their Late Show rights to a channel that
might actually treat with the respect it deserves. Not even Sky One or Paramount Comedy
treated this show with contempt as bad as this. It's pathetic, just f*ck*ng pathetic!

I thought ITV2 were going to loose the late show? They are trying more and more to refocus themselves as a backup channel to ITV1, and in (not that much) time that almost certainly is going to include not showing anything which isn't either a repeat or strongly linked to ITV1.

Just worry if they start showing the late show back to back for weeks on end - it's a sure sign they're going to drop it; that's exactly what they did with Sunset Beach.

Erm, quite.

Try comparing the ratings for Letterman with those of Pop Idol Extra. Seeing as last year's Pop Idol Extra got ITV2 their highest ever ratings, I don't blame them for sacrificing Letterman.

How dare they show their own original programmes in favour of an American import, what are they thinking about! Wink

And I think you'll find the 5.10am showing is a repeat of the 3am showing

Though I am not a fan of Letterman, I am more of a Conan person myself, I have to say showing Letterman at 3am is taking the piss. I mean people probably whinged when it was on Sky 1 and 2 at 11pm or 12am, same with Paramount. Though what was wrong when it was on at 7pm? I remember when ITV2 got it they put it on at 11pm and they were proud of that. But you can see it going off ITV2 shortly, it would be better off on FTN (I know they have Leno) or something.

Pap Idol Extra is mind numbingly dull moving wallpaper type telly. The only thing on digital TV that's duller
than this complete tripe, is the overnight streaming of Big Brother housemates fast asleep under infra red
cameras. Meanwhile, The Late Show with David Letterman, while it may be a cheap import, it's without
doubt, the most original and unique show on the entire ITV2 schedules.

There were rumours earlier this year when they displaced Letterman for the "Celebs in a Fake Jungle" live
overnight streaming, but recently ITV2 renewed it's rights to show Letterman for another year. They even
started to put it in an almost regular timeslot of around 00:45, give or take about 5 minutes eitherway.
Heck, I was actually starting to forgive them for replacing Letterman for the celeb jungle nonsense!

The only good thing to come out this whole fiasco, is that they've ditched the Jerry Springer re-runs that
were made about seven or eight years ago. I'm sure once Pap Idol is done and dusted for another year
those awful old Springer re-runs will probably return, and Letterman will be shown straight after.

RE: Last year's Pap Idol Extra . . .
The only editions of last year's Pap Idol Extras that would've got decent ratings, will have been the ones
that were aired in decent peak evening timeslots, not the 3 hour editions that were broadcast late night.

I'm with GM here - I keep forgetting to watch it with all these schedule tennis games.

Perhaps they should release it, and let another channel give the programme the respect it deserves.

If ITV2 really feel they must have a 3 hour late night helping of Pap Idol Extra, why can't they put
it on AFTER the Late Show? For pity's sake, the Late Show is only on for about 45-50 minutes!

If that's the case, then what's the point of repeating the whole thing in an inappropriate late night timeslot?
Particularly when all those that want to to watch Pap Idol Extra, or at least the vast majority of them, will
have already watched it the first time round in it's late afternoon to early evening timeslot.

That's as maybe. But don't forget that ITV1 have an extra edition of WWTBAM, Tuesday night to celebrate
that show's fifth anniversary. ITV2 are repeating this at 23:25, so Letterman fans, like myself, either have
to set the VCR, or stay up all night, and wait up until 05:10 on Wednesday morning to watch the show.

It's called "The Late Show", because it's a late night program. If it was always meant to be shown
in the very early hours of the morning, it would be called "The Early Hours of the Morning Show" !
