When I read you OP I thought you must have been talking about +1, anyway it happen often when they only have the rights for something on the one show or at a certain time.

Not really. It was pretty common when ITV2+1 launched. Some bright spark at ITV thought it was a good idea to launch a timeshift channel when you have next to nothing that could be timeshifted... The same thing happened with ITV3+1 initially, though finally somebody finally did the homework BEFORE launching ITV4+1. Heaven knows what's going to happen if ITV1+1 does launch...

For charity, The Sun and Cowell. It would be nice if the 'legal' reasons was because Ofcom stepped in to stop it as being nothing more than an advert but I doubt they have.
