I really don't see what people are moaning at, Channel 4, UKTV and Sky have loads of them on Satellite and Cable. ITV's Digital channels are of the most popular on TV and I don't see any harm with 2 and 3 having a +1 onto them.

Some of you might not want to see Takeaway being repeated loads of times on a Sunday, but the ITV2 repeat at teatime can often get the best part of a million viewers. There's a demand, ITV are trying to fufil that...

..it's not like they've just paid £10 Million for a slot on Freeview and using it for +1 services.

interesting to note the biggest ITV haters are those with the very low post numbers.

I care not about +1 channels. They will easily recoup their running costs and the ITV channels themselves have very high figures.

+1 channels are fine, so long as they aren't on Freeview, which is bandwidth-challenged as it is.

Channel 4 really want shooting for having E4+1 on FV.

It's pointless really, but I suppose they're just using the space until they decide to launch a new channel, which will probably happen eventually.

E4+1 vs Quizcall though - no doubt which is the better service!

And though bandwidth is limited on Freeview, so are the number of viewers with PVRs, so occassionally E4+1 is handy if there is something on E4 you want to watch at the same time as something on another Freeview channel.

The problem is they are fitting too many channels on each Sky Transponder. making the picture looked like compressed muck.

With the bandwidth available, C4 would be better off creating a channel which showcases the best of E4 and More4, and put out the shows on a 4-hour rolling format, although I guess this would be more costly.

It would be, whereas E4+1 probably costs peanuts as the schedule, the ads and the playout have already been covered - just record and replay the lot on a rolling basis. Apparently its a very good return for very little investment and can add an extra half a percent onto the audience share for the main channel and the timeshift channel.

Isn't 'E4+1' just a place-holder for an up-coming channel? Wasn't that the agreement for its launch (at least on 'Freeview')?

If that is the case then 'E4+1' is only temporary.

Tw'at. Not only have you listed the same channel twice, but you've totally failed to notice that there is no space left on ITV's half of the D3&4 mux. ITV don't waste their Freeview space.*

Old joke - isn't ITV2+1=ITV3, and ITV3+1=ITV4

*sarcasm.
