hi, my first post...
Do you guys think ITV were right in axing both Night And Day and Crossroads. Personally, i thought NAD was fantastic, and should have been saved, whereas Crossroads was utter pants and should have been dumped when it was 're-tooled'.
i think that even when NAD was dumped from the tea-time slot, it should have been allowed to stay in its 11pm slot, instead of 1am!! Mad

Welcome to the forum, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to dig this up again.

There has been discussion on this, the general concensus was (these views are not necessarily endorsed by me):

N&D was excellent, the time slot wasn't.
Crossroads was excellent, Mark III was crap and Shortland Street was even better than Xroads Mark II. (SS comment © Jez and about another two forum members)

Also discussed along the way: James Martin v Hymagumba re: Scott Booth, Shortland Street should be networked at 5pm (thankfully no reference to the silly comment from last year about 9pm Saturday networking), James Martin, The Big Show and "Yvon Grace should never work in TV again" © JM.

That is all.

It seems that generally a lot of people thought Night and Day was brilliant. At first, all my friends said "it's a load of sh!te" but when I forced them to watch an episode they completely changed their minds and said "Wow! That was really good - when's it on?" (They were slightly miffed when I replied 1AM...)

Night and Day was excellent and should return to our screens as a re-run in a primetime slot very soon. Whilst I'm on the subject I can promote my website; www.baileymedia.co.uk/nightandday

However, I don't really think Night and Day was 'axed' as such, because the last episode drew the whole story to a conclusion and it would be nearly impossible to continue the story so I think that was it's natural end, give or take a few episodes.

Nah, it was axed. They just managed to round the story up within the remaining episodes that it was commissioned for. It was ok to start with, but just got bizarrely surreal and ridiculous. There were weeks on end when the Jane Harper thing wasn't mentioned at all, they really strung that out.

To be honest I never really watched Night and Day, and IMO it did look rather crap, but then I found it quite difficult to get into, though I assume alot of people like it, it was something which wasn't ITV about it, it shouldn't have been on at teatime or very late on a Thursday, maybe somethine like 10pm on a Thursday would have been better. It is like Brookside in a way, it gets good towards the end and gets treated rather badly, and the sad thing is there is 6 or 7 Episodes of Brookie left, which really is a shame, as it is better now.

It was axed from ITV Daytime and left to play out in its late night Thursday night slot. I reckon they just ordered so many episodes and when they dropped the daytime showing about six months after it started (give or take), just fill an hour up for the omnibus.

Very nice! Think you might want to use the Verdana font at that text size though IMO. Smile

I problem I had with NAD was it was
1 - in a bad time slot at the start and
2 - you couldn't dip in and dip out like with other shows. Not easily anyhow.

Plus regarding the NAD site - could you please change the navigation frame to use title instead of alt for the images. Mozzy people get no tooltips otherwise. ALT is not for tooltips - I won't lecture you as I'm still chuffed at getting a certain thing off eBay....

It's planned for the next update. As you can (hopefully) see, the 'hotlink' images already have this.
