ITV1HD

Well the channel has launched, no changes to ITV1 presentation so far. Wonder if any changes will come about at 9:25am. If not, then what was that new trialled look for then??

Nothing as yet. Could change this evening as seems to be the norm with channel relaunches/freshes these days.

Well the idents on ITV1 HD have been edited slightly. The idents themselves are the same, but the new style logo is in place, and the HD part also appears.

Unfortunately on regular ITV1, nothing has changed at all

Shame we didn't get any new idents, but this is ITV we are on about. Most broadcasters would see the launch of a HD channel as a perfect time to invest in some brilliant HD idents, but not ITV. Oh nooo, they couldn't possibly do anything as clever as that

Sounds about right. Were the idents produced in HD?

I take it they're producing two separate trail styles for both services? How bizarre given the HD channel is just a simulcast rather than a mix channel with a varied schedule.

Oh and to add to insult, the promos don't seem to have adapted the new look trialled a few weeks ago.

No subtitles on ITV1HD on Sky when I checked earlier. Shame!

It seemed to be an uspcaled version of the ident with the logo and effect added in HD. Unfotunately in this 'lo-res' cap it isn't evident.

Well one good thing has come from that, when you pause and go into time shift mode, subs don't automatically appear like they seem to on ITV1 on Freesat.

I guess they will get subs sorted soon though, bad for a channel nowadays not to have them.

Ah thank you for getting a video Andrew. I am unable to record from ITV1 HD, I can only capture ITV1 at the minute.

Just had a thought, because ITV have been able to add the new look logo to the idents and the different transitions still there, I wonder if they will increase the size of the logo on the original 6 idents (Beach, Bike etc)

I wouldn't be surprised if the original 6 have been quietly dropped. I can't see them going to the effort of ensuring the ITV1 HD logo disappears behind the objects like the ITV1 logo does.

They'll have either plonked the new logo over the top, which will look dreadful (think Wales), or not have bothered.
